Cradle cap in 4 year old? or something else?

My 4yo dd has what looks like cradle cap. Have only just noticed it today. She hasn;t complained that its itchy or anything. She never had it as a baby but ds did and it looks just like that.
Have googled it and it seems that it wouldn;t be cradle cap, she's too old. It looks like it could be dermatitis or psorsis (sp).

impetigo?

walkinthewoods · 10/07/2008 17:02

Don't think so, she has scaly, flakey skin only on her scalp.

My DD is nearly 5 and has cradle cap.

Itati
Has she always had it?

Should I try anythign with dd or just take her to gp's tomorrow to get a diagnosis?

ds1 is 3.8 and still has cradle cap.

She has had it since she was a baby iirc and her brother had it until about 4. TBH I haven't done much to get rid, it is only dry skin afterall, and I didn't rate Dentonox shampoo.

I would see the HV or nurse first rather than use a GP appointment tbh.

Both mine have cradle cap - ds is 4.4 and dd is 2.9.

My dd still has cradle cap too. Why don't you try some of the baby methods and see if they work: Dentinox shampoo, vaseline, olive oil, someone on here also said HEad & Shoulders I think

ds2 is 2.2 and I noticed the other day a patch of what I'm 99.9% sure must be cradle cap - he never had it as a baby although ds1 did.
