This doctor, who didn't know what calpol was, said that he looks doppy, give it a couple of days and see how it goes.

DS is 14 weeks old and breastfed.

Aren't you meant to worry if little babies are doppy?

He is rubbing his face and ear with his hand, but according to the doctor not teathing (though he said he had sharp gums!)

I don't know what to do! Please advise!

doppy? do you mean dopey? sleepy? is he feeding lots? weeing and pooing? is he feverish? did the doc check his ears?

I am mostly fine, loving DS, and sometime very stressed and lonely (I guess this is motherhood)

He apparently doesn't have a fever or any chest problems and his ears are clear!

He is sleeping A LOT and very very grumpy inbetween!

He is weeing and pooing and eating!

Did the gp check his ears, if he's rubbing one. My dc have only rubbed their ears if they've had ear infections, or have been teething.
How can he not know anything about Calpol?
Can you feel any little lumps in his gums?

lulumama · 07/07/2008 12:33

angua, you can always drop me a line if you need an ear

he could be getting a cold, or it might be the start of teething, if he is feverish or in pain, you can give calpol according to the dosage instructions, think it is 2.5 ml ..

if he is feeding and weeing and pooing etc ,then just keep an eye and if he seems to get worse, then take him back to doc.

is this not your regular doctor?

AnguaVonUberwald · 07/07/2008 12:34

girlandboy he checked his ears.

No one can agree if he is teething or not! I am not sure what I can feel.
