ds has woken up with lovely pink blotches all over his legs. Any ideas?

He's had a fever over the weekend with headache and a sore throat. The fever and headache have gone but have been replaced with dark pink almost flat blotches. I'm thinking purpura? They don't itch. It's my birthday today, last birthday I spent the day in hospital with him because he had an asthma attack. Kids!

He's 9. It's a good job he's broken up from school. It's only on his thigh's. Poor thing. He sounds as though his throat is really sore. I can't get an appointment at the doctors until 4:30.

Take it the glass test has been passed?

No. They don't vanish. It's not meningitis though, they are not purple, he's not got a headache/stiff neck/aversion to bright light/nausea. Just blotches and a titchy sore throat.

hows your ds now? did you get him to your gp?

I took him to the GP, the little darling's got scarlet fever. He's given him some antibiotics because he's also got tonsilitis. Poor thing. Thanks for all your help.
