I'm a bit confused we're still not sure if ds1 has had cp before as he had a few strange spots a year or two ago that followed a different pattern to cp the gp said they looked poxy but couldn't be certain. Now in the last week he has developed a rash of spots on his lower back, some on his bottom one on his hand last night and also on his face. The spots on his face have a yellowish head a bit blistery but not so much. The ones on his lower back almost look exczema-ish as they are dry but he has been scratching them. I have just found this picture of cp online and the spots on this boy's upper arms look like the ones on ds's lower back apart from some of ds's are bigger. Is this cp or exczema dpo you think? he has got a bit of a cough and a runny nose as well.

Chicken pox normally starts with a bit of a fever before, then red spots that turn into blisters. They are very itchy. Eczema can also be red spots but they are not blisters. CP spots come in various sizes and can go everywhere.

He needs some antihistamine to help with the ithching,

Ty I have been giving him piriton to stop it itching. If it is exzema would it suddenly start now? he's 2.5we haven't changed are washing powder or anything and he hasn't ate anything ut of the ordinary?

Sounds like chicken pox. It's better to get it now though as it can get very nasty and very serous if he were to catch it when he was older.

Ledodgy · 06/07/2008 16:10

Ty if it is cp i'm hoping 6 month old ds2 doesn't get it. We're already into our fifth week of some kind of illness (it's been me this weekend) and I don't think I can stand anymore plus I'm still not sure if dd has had it yet either. It's never ending.

. Oh dear. It's just a bad bit. Babies can catch it but it's very mild. So mild inface that they can catch it again when they are older because their body's have not been able to build up it's resistance. It'll be ok. It'll give you some bonding time. Just remember to order your food on the internet as you'll be housebound.

Ledodgy · 06/07/2008 16:15

Oh God we've had enough bonding time! I am climbing the walls I don't want anymore bonding time...

Did he start off with red/pink pimples on his back/face or scalp that have developed into small blisters? A slight fever, loss of appetite or sore throat?

Ledodgy · 06/07/2008 16:34

He hasn't had a fever this week, no his appetite has been ok and I don't think his throat is sore though he has been coughing a bit. I didn't see the spots blister as such though the one I found on his wrist last night did have fluid in it but he scratched that off. I have retrieved camera now am just going to find the wire. I'm wondering if it isn't cp what the hell it is!
