Cant beleive this, stuck rigidly to the SW regime for a week - thre result was a 2.5 lb gain. I feel like weeping. Next weigh in is tomorrow and I expect I have gained again despite sticking to the diet. Any other experiences of SW or of undeserved weight gain?

bunny2, I would try to stick with it, but have you actually sat down and discused things with your consultant? Or do you have a phone number for her?? My consultant would do sit down after a class with anyone who needed it, and she is always at the end of a phone. However she is very good and makes her memebers fell great about themsleves and the lan and so I guess she thinks it's in her own interests to do this.

Grommit I think you are a little harsh on all these slimming clubs too. WW and SW both give free membership to anyone who has achieved their goal and you are strongly encouraged to continue to go. I stopped going afterthe first time becasue I had to go back to full time wor and couldn't go to a class. However I only put on weight when I had a change in circumstances (huge stress period) combined with an injury to my foot which meant I had to give up exercising for a time. I decided to join SW again back in October, but then thought I'd wait til after Christmas (what the hell). The disiplne of the weekly weigh in works for me, and I know the weight will come off. I only have myself to blame for putting on weight.

One last thing that SW did for me was it helped cure mild Bulmimia. It showed me I could eat a huge quanitity of food without bingeing, and to take responsibility for what I ate, not to blame others. So although some people do put on weight again, these poeple would anyway, it is not the blame of the slimming clubs or their diets.

I went for my 4th weigh-in last night and had lsot another lb so I am now only half a pound heavier than I was when I started! Cant say I am convinced. I think SW works brilliantly for loads of people but not for all. How are you doing Crunchie?

I lost another lb, so that 4 in 3 weeks, but I am happy because in total I've lost about 10lbs in the first month (I did a week prior to SW) I thought I'd lost 2lbs, but it's so difficult becasue weight does fluctuate during the day. I do try to wear exactly the same things every week though, so I get an accurate reading. I wish I could help you with yor dissapointment, have you sat down with the consultant? Does she go through your sheet. The reason I say this is the amount of people who make accidental, but genuine mistakes can mean loasds of extra sins not beng counted (I'm not saying this is you) If you want to discuss it mor, I check the thread every day.

Hi Crunchie, the consultant did have alook after the first week and she couldnt find anything wrong. SUbsequently, she has not had the time - there are around 50 people in the group and she doesnt get th talk to everyone. Personally I think the group is too big because of this. Good luck qwith your weight loss. I think SW is fab for lots of people but not for me. I may try Weight Watchers next!
