Any Norethisterone experts on here please? I know AF is supposed to begin a couple of days after you stop taking these tablets - but when will the following AF be? will it be four weeks after this? Thanks in advance.

do you mean stop pill forever? Then yes, roughly 4 weeks.

Thank you.Problem is this - want to take Norethisterone to delay AF in August because due during the Leeds festival - 21st Aug. However dont really want to mess about remembering to take three tablets a day during the festival. So - was thinking about taking them now to delay Julys AF until about August 12th so it will be 'sorted 'beforehand IYSWIM. Just needed to comfirm that the next AF will be due about 12 sept, long after festival finished. Hope this makes sense!

It won't necessarily work that way.

Taking the norithisterone now will stop your period if it's due, then you will have a bleed when you stop taking them but it won't necessarily be a true period. Then you may well have your true period when it was due eg mid August. It depends when you ovulate and norethisterone won't necessarily stop you ovulating.

Sidge - I see what you mean. So it will be better just to delay August AF (due 21st) and remember to take the tablets from about 18th to 25 Aug. (original plan)! Thank you for your help.

If you're due on naturally on August 21st I would start the norethisterone around the 16th-18th or so an keep taking them until you get back. That way you are pretty much guaranteed to be perio free whilst you're away.

Once you stop taking them you will bleed but remember your next period may be a bit unpredictable.

I'm taking this at the moment and have taken it before. You will get your period a few days after you finish taking the tablets then you'll have your next according to your usual cycle. In my case about feckin 21 days later!

You should start to take them as Sidge says a few days before you are due. The pack says take 3 tablets a day but I seem to be able to delay my period by just taking two a day.

Has anyone experienced the following when taking these pills?
My temps have been going up since I started taking them 5 days ago (3 a day to bring AF to start clomid) and I m constantly thirsty and go to the loo very often. i m just worried, my temp rise if it has to do with ovulation and pregn..why did my temps go up so much since taking them?
I m on metformin too 1000mg a day.
thx a lotx
