ds1 has red spots with blisters mainly on his tummy and back but is not unwell at all and the spots are not itchy.

He has had the spots for over 24 hours and while more are appearing the appearance of the older ones are not changing.

Any ideas please?

My gut feeling would be that it is CP.

sounds like chickenpox for sure

not itchy till later and even then not always, especially on younger children.

Sounds like it to me. My dd was not unwell with chicken pox but was covered in spots whereas her sister was really really unwell and hardly had any spots. You ds is going to be lucky it sounds like.

sounds like it

CP often starts on the tummy/torso

do they look blistery?

Stock up on calamine and piriton ... plus oats for the bath

thank you I think I am in denial as he is already bouncing off the walls with boredom.

will go and buy calamine lotion and keep my fingers crossed that he stays feeling fine.
