is cradle cap itchy?

DD (almost 4mo) has overnight scratched all her flaky cradle cap off. It was all on her matress and now there are scratches on her head (we only chopped the nails from one hand last night).

Yes, When it starts to flake away from the scalp it can be very itchy.
I found by putting a little baby oil on the scalp when in the bath and then using a comb and very softly keep combing through the hair, it will lift off alot of the flaky bits. Dont press to hard though or you will make the top of their heads sore.
