If someone cam to you with symptoms like this;

-Extreme shortness of breath.
-Tight feeling around chest (Like a clamp) when breathing.
-Dizzyness.
-Visual disturbances, occasionally with head aches/migraines.
-Generally feeling a bit out of sorts.

....and that person had a medical history like this;

-Congenital heart problem (Leaking valve and enlarged heart)
-Glaucoma.

....and that person is over weight by about a stone and a half, but exercises and eats a balanced healthy diet with the occasional treat and doesn't smoke.

What would you say it could be???? My GP says it is because I am overweight and nothing else.

TIA

sounds like panic attack

You need to make sure that you have another echo. I do not want to frighten you but DH has a congenital condition which affects his heart he had valve repair and then about 5-6 month after this he had symptoms that sound very much like yours, that got progressivley worse. He tried to pass it off as a cat allergy!!!!I hassled and hassled the cardio poeple on his behalf (he was too busy with cat allergy theory!!) and eventually he was seen again as an out patient- he was then taken into hospital v.quickly for tests and then further surgey. It transpired that the leaflets around one of the valves had torn. This was only discovered during surgery. DH history and yours may well be very different but i am sooo glad that I persisted in my hassling campaign as i knew the way he was feeling couldn't be right.

how much do you weigh?

DustyTV · 03/07/2008 19:23

pippo how scary, how is your DH now? I hope he feels well.

I'm going to ring my cardiologists tomorrow to see if I can maybe get an appointment.

Thank you all for your advice.

12 st 3 is nothing, umless you're dead short. If you have a history of heart problems they really should check you out.

DustyTV · 03/07/2008 19:31

I'm 5 feet 7 so average not short.

Thankyou

Thank you all for your advice, I've got an appointment with my cardiologist in 6 weeks time, but they will call me if they get a cancellation. In the mean time I have made an appointment to see my GP again next week, just to help put my mind at ease (Hopefully)

To top it all off I now feel like I want to vomit, I have felt like it all last night and all today So now I'm nibbling on some ginger to try and help the feeling.
