My Gran was diagonised in 2005 and recently has gone downhill quite rapidly.
It is not helped by a very complicated situation that I won't get into as no-one will believe it.
My family are struggling at the moment and I was wondering if anyone knows of good places we can log on to (like mumsnet)
We are already in touch with alziehmers soceity but we could do with talking to another family.
thanks

My dad was diagnosed about three years ago also. He lives in Dublin and there is a very good set-up with the hospital here. Maybe the hospital where she was diagnosed could help you out.

there's are support threads on the alzheimers society website iirc

Some parts of the country have Admiral Nurses who support relatives emotionally, give you info on the illness etc. They are funded by an organisation called For Dementia - I just found the link, hope it might help, I think just depends on where your family are, but my experience of them has been really good www.fordementia.org.uk/admiral.htm

jj, I just looked at the link, which perhaps I should have done before posting, duh, sorry, and even if they've not got a service where you live, there is a national phone line which might be worth a try
