just a small rant (after 2 beers and a baileys so apologies for being wimpish)
Just a bit fed up. after all my stupid complications with my eyes (cataract surgery, complications blah bloody blah I've found that not only have they got all the other problems but one (the troublesome one) has decided to get shortsighted and astigmatic so now these 'wonderful' implants are being compromised in yet another way.
I know it won't make any sense am just venting cos am so f-ing fed up with the whole bloody thing.

Well, it didn't make much sense to me I'm afraid but I feel for you - must be very disappointing. What's the next course of action for you regarding your eyes?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 02/07/2008 22:23

thanks for replying was def a case of needing a small rant to get things off my chest!

I'm going to see if glasses help with some of my vision problems - they might and that would be good!
My surgeon is referring me for a second opinion - one of my implants is defective (when they do cataract surgery they remove your old natural lens and put in an artificial lens) has developed problems. Only cure is to replace the artificial lens with another one - but it has a lot of risks and I am very not keen on the idea.

Tis really complicated and I was upset yesterday. Bit better today.

Glad you're feeling a bit brighter today Kitten.

If he's referring you, then I guess that means you have time to think about it and way up the risks vrs the potential benefits etc & how you feel about it all.

Glasses - hope they help some but for God sake Kitten, if you do go down the glasses route, check out your frame choices on the Mumsnet Style boards before you buy anything. There's some very odd characters who get terribly excited about frames and they will ensure you get exactly the right ones for your face! Honest, I'm not joking. I got stuck in the middle of a thread once and all these odd bods started a huge debate about specs. The original OP was about loft ladders or summat!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 03/07/2008 09:51

lol about the style thingy!!!!!!! Frames are some ones I already had but hardly used (cos surgery changed everything!) They are nice Karen Millen ones which is about as stylish as I get.

You are right about the referral. theres no point in me fretting about what to do. It'll take ages to come through I expect. I'll try the glasses and then just keep bumbling through life.

Have at least got over the hurdle of being embarrassed that I can't see stuff so well. Had a big meeting earlier in the week and I couldn't see stuff on the board so I told them that I couldn't see it as I had vision problems. Hooray for me

Thanks for reading my ramblings!
