Partner (63). Lower back / kidney area pain for 3 weeks. GP said 'back pain' & gave painkillers. Got much worse. Yesterday am much worse & couldn't pee. Partner then passed a stone (agony). Immediate relief. Hours later same process begins. 111 said 'wait on A&E as its a Bank Holiday'. Can they scan bladder or kidneys in hospital to see if more stones? Can they zap or treat them?

If they are large, yes. But often they are so small they don’t show (my own experience). But yes if he’s is very severe pain he need to get to an and e regardless as it may be a bad infection or something else causing the pain even if the stones aren’t visible.

Thank you @Sparrowsandbudgies It's enough he can't work & when bad he's on the floor with it.

yes, they an do a CT scan to see if there are any more stones. For bladder stones, if they are small they can zap them, if they are larger he may need surgery.
