I called 111 today for a suspected burst fibroid. I feel dreadful with stomach pain, fainty feeling and heavy bleeding after 14 months of no periods. I was told at 12pm that I would have a call back from a clinician and Its 10.40pm and I’m still waiting.

Have they forgotten about me, don’t give a shit or do I just need to be patient

I would phone again

PLEASE go to A&E. This could develop very quickly. Fibroids have a big blood supply and are situated in very intricate places. You need an examination.

Absolutely this is an emergency and needs A and E.

This makes me so angry, leaving unwell people hanging on hoping for help. Phone them again and tell them how long you've waited and how ill you feel. And if no one is going to phone you back then get them to tell you that so you know the score and tomorrow you go to A&E if your GP won't see you.

I think I will try calling again.
Its frightening to think they are just not calling people back who need to be seen

I am already under gynaecology and I’ve waited since 2019 for endo surgery so I know my GP will just tell me to wait for that as they recently re referred me. My gp surgery is horrendous and questioned why I needed pain relief at all as “Endo is not painful “ 😣

Its upsetting the way they treat people

A fortnight away I had to call NHS 111 after just over 3 hrs and remind I was still waiting I wanted to meet my maker that day - the outcome of that call was what A&E dept would I like to go to at eventually 10pm at night.

Slept on it. Later in week

My GP had a queue of just 26 on Thursday but couldn’t possible offer a gp appointment I was to wait all day for them to ring so I went to boots chemist in person was helped within 30 mins and left with antibiotics.

humptydumptyfelloff · Yesterday 22:50

Go straight to a and e op

if they do call bam theyl send you to a and e anyway and you won’t be any further forward in the queue so I woukd just go

DemBonesDemBones · Yesterday 22:51

This isn’t a scenario where you need to wait for them to call you back. You know this is an emergency, go to A&E, please.

a fibroid is hell mine only went after catheterisation (after 2 years) nearly had pe or blood clot in lower limb was told whatever was going up to the lungs to kill, taken to theatre under ‘say goodbye’ for blisters in lower limb caused by infection, fought, woke against all odds with fibroid numbness gone and periods back to normal.

Just getting out of first grade compression. Yay. Kept active everyday so to prevent edema getting its own way - will fight till I die x
