Gabapentin woes. Help please.

I'm on gabapentin 1200mg a day for nerve pain. Was on 900 from April to last week. I walk briskly for half an hour a day, (have done for years) sometimes twice a day and I'm eating the same as I've always done. I can't do any more exercise.

I can't figure out if it's weight or water but I weigh half a stone more than I did when I started on the gabapentin 6 months ago.

Will this carry on the whole time I'm on the medication and how do I counteract the weight gain?

Please, any personal experiences of this? It's getting me down and I've nearly gone up a dress size 😥

I've been on gabapentin for well over ten years... and was on max dose for 5 of those years (now down to 900mg), Initially yes I gained a little weight...probably about the same as you, but it didn't continue and these days I'm back to the 58kg I've weighed almost all of my adult life, so anecdata not data, but no it hasn't made me gain more weight.
I think it made me more snack happy... and the simple truth is I had to be a little more careful with my food!

Hi, thank you for your positive story. I'm really hoping that it tails off..but I've only just increased the dose 😢
