Dental Crowns - any dentists on line please to give professional opinion / advice?

I had veneers on my two front teeth as they were both chipped from a childhood incident. Great for 20 years then I had them replaced due to discolouration and then had endless problems with one of the new ones regularly falling off.

I decided to go for the crown route, after lots of research / discussion etc. Dentist explained that the culprit veneer was more prominent that the other one which wasn't helping with it falling off as the two teeth weren't equal when biting down etc (my memory and understanding)

I've had the two crowns done now and I'm not very happy. The right one is still prominent. It was also slightly longer, which the dentist has sorted (by gently filing it I think. That's what it felt like / sounded like).

He tells me there is nothing he can do about the prominence; he said he shaved off as much of the original tooth as was suitable for getting good fitting of the crowns (too much and the crown doesn't adhere, too little and the result is too thick.)

He took the measurements of all of my teeth by using some sort of laser type thing (actually, that might have been for the whitening moulds that I did before the crowns).

Do I have any options now the crowns have been fitted? Should they both be flush? Does it matter that one tooth feels so much bigger/thicker that the other?

TIA

Impossible to say without seeing photographs of the teeth before the crowns were fitted and after.

If the underlying tooth is out of alignment it’s impossible to correct without drilling away a lot of tooth and possibly damaging the nerve inside the tooth.

Thank you for the message Lollygaggle.

I don't have photographs of the teeth before the crowns were fitted (assuming you mean after the veneers were removed and the once the teeth were prepped).

I guess I will have to accept what I've got. Luckily, I think aesthetically it's good; it's just that it feels unbalanced/uneven.
