Dentists

Until now my family 2a and 2c have been NHS dentist patients. Probably paying about £55 a year for us all to have a checkup. Obviously paid for treatment occasionally too (a filling, an extraction).

Now to dentist has gone fully private and we can join if we want to for £70ish a month! I cannot imagine adding this into our budget at the moment.

Im finding the options with other dentists confusing; some say you can pay £40 for a check up (still £160) and then pay as you go for any treatment. Others seem to want a monthly fee that includes not a lot (discount off treatment and a yearly check up) Oh but if you are in universal credit it’s all free.

Just feels like another punch in the guts for the middle earners. What are you all doing? How is it going?

I can’t get an NHS dentist and have recently had to have 3 fillings at £250 each. It’s hard and stupidly expensive but is reached the point where I couldn’t wait anymore, 1 was right on the cusp of needing a root canal.
