Nausea and Tummy Troubles

Has anyone else had a bug where you feel nauseous all the time, hungry all the time, and your tummy is upset, not diarrhoea, but cramps especially after eating, and not settled.

I've felt like this for a month now, and wonder if I should go to the docs to get checked out.

I've had a few digestive problems kkgirl, but nothing like you describe. However as it's been going on for over a month I'd get yourself checked at the GP as it's unlikely to be a bug if it's gone on so long.

Yes, so did I. But at my age, nearly 46, with DH taking the precautions (and he would leave home if I got pregnant), and not exactly doing it much, it should be unlikely, if not impossible, but it did cross my mind.

stress? Nerves? My sister and Mum suffer with a similar thing and it seems to be anxiety-related?

Yes, I have wondered about that, but I am usually fairly stressed anyway, there is nothing happening which has put me under more stress.
Do your Mum and Sister take anything for it at all?

No, I haven't been taking any nurofen. I am usually healthy, but this thing is really weird. Yesterday, I was driving two sons to football, had to stop, and retch, wasn't actually sick but nearly, and the sick feeling is horrible, and I feel so hungry and empty all the time as well.
Will make an appointment and see what they say

KKGirl - yes mum and sis do take stuff. Sis takes Motillium which she reckons helps, Mum is on too many drugs to mention, but for her recent bout of IBS I know she has been given anti spasmodal(?) drugs. Hope this helps. Are you feeling any better?

Went to the docs yesterday, saw nurse at minor illnesses clinic. She suggested I could be pregnant, I said more chance of winning lottery, we are so careful as we are happy with what we have got. Then she said IBS, and that I am not eating properly which is true, I eat on the run, and don't eat enough fruit and veg, but why would I get tummy ache after I eat?
She asked me to provide a sample and if that comes back ok, then go and see doc.

I do wonder if it is IBS/nerves

How you doing kkgirl? Is there any possibility at all you might have diabetes? You can very easily get it checked at the GP with a urine sample / skin prick test.

Have you lost your appetite with this? Or lost any weight?

Peppermint tea/capsules can settle an upset tummy

I have IBS and they help

Hi, it's funny you should have this complaint as I have had exactly the same thing since 20 December - the day of my mum's inquest into her death...

After 9 days of feeling this way, saw the doc and he thought it was definitely nerves but said come back for blood tests if it carries on. It did, but reduced after I re-took a previously failed exam last week.

When you're "worried sick", I think it really means that you are...!
