Understanding my asthma

How is it that I can feel dreadful - aching chest, uncomfortable breathing etc - yet my PF is reasonable, but when my PF was <75% and I ended up spending a day on nebulisers and steroids in A&E, I felt fine, just a little tired?

Ooh gosh I don't know. Are you on preventers? Your asthma should be better controlled than that? I'm on a fostair powder inhaler, don't have any major symptoms unless I have a chest infection. But I don't monitor my peak flow anymore, so other than feeling a bit breathless I wouldn't know anything was up. How long have you had asthma?

Hi op. Sounds like you've been diagnosed as an adult?

I've had it since age 5 and I'm nearly 50.

I feel worse when I wake up, then often when I get tired I get tight too. Been the same my whole life.

So my PF drops around 50pts overnight and then often late afternoon the same thing. Some inhaler gets me back to normal.
