OK, dd3 is almost 9 weeks old (exclusively bf).

About a month ago I had 3 days of period pain, then a teeny tiny amount of bright red blood, about a quarter of a teaspoon.

Then for the previous 8-9 days, including today, I have had pretty much constant period pain but absolutely NO BLOOD. It's not so bad that I have to take painkillers but it was definitely worse 8-9 days ago and has lessened since and I'm still aware of it. What could be going on? Never had this after ds1&2 were born........anyone?

Thanks!

I can't help i'm afraid. DD was exclusively BF and my periods only came back once the night feeds stopped.

Maybe see the doc? Sure it's nothing though.

Sure someone more helpful will be along in a mo!

thanks chukky, yes that's what happened with me too after ds1&2..... we seem to have been to the docs so much lately with chicken pox/ear infections/various jabs I can't be bothered to go again (would rather just put up with it [lazy])

i was thinking about posting for the same thing.

dd 7 months exc. bf to 6 months.

had one very mini period but have been having period type pains on and off each month?

will be watching this with interest.

ilovemydog · 29/06/2008 20:00

had a period about 6 weeks after DS was born. He is also exclusively b/f.

snooks · 29/06/2008 20:05

oooh mumt2oneloudbaby, sort of 'snap', dd3 is only 9 weeks but often goes for 6-7 hours at night and I read somewhere that this can trigger ovulation and the return of periods - with ds1&2 I definitely fed a hell of a lot more frequently at this age - 2-3 feeds at night.

Let's hope someone knows what's going on

Still cannot fathom why it's constant period pain but no period though.....

I take it you definitely couldn't be pregnant?

snooks · 30/06/2008 16:11

blimey lou. we have managed to have sex once - fleetingly - since dd3 was born, it was about a month ago, around the time when i had those 3 days of period-type pain. it was unprotected, spur-of-the-moment sex (sorry tmi).

surely not. feel a bit stupid now. i don't have any preg symtoms. good god. we have 3 under the age of 4 as it is.

You had 3 days of pains when you had unprotected sex, then you are now feeling cramps but no period? I know that I'd be testing...

girlnextdoor · 30/06/2008 19:07

you can get phantom periods if you are not ovulating- I am menopausal and get periods pains sometimes but no bleeding.

Still, after the sex, I'd be testing to make sure....!

snooks all this talk and guess what turned up!

but it would have to be the weekend when i was at silverstone f1 gp with virtually no facilities to speak of (tent, field, 1 toilet between 90,000)
