Concerned about suddenly dropping things from my hands recently

I’m worried by two incidents recently of things slipping out of my fingers.

On Sunday, it was a bottle of wine in a plastic bag. (Broke!)

Just now, it was a cup of hot coffee DP had handed to me.

I’m slightly freaking out it could be something neurological. But I could be over reacting.

Has anyone experienced anything like this?

I drop/throw things all the time. I have carpal and cubital tunnel as part of a wider genetic disorder. But it's the carpal and cubital tunnel that make me drop things, so it's not necessarily something more sinister.

Vitamin B deficiency symptoms can start this way. Worth looking it up.

If you are concerned (and you are as you're making a post about it on MN, and tbh, I would be concerned too), make an appointment with your GP.

It’s definitely worth making an appointment with your GP if it happens again.

Go to the doctor. It’s most probably absolutely nothing, just being distracted. But it’s better to get checked out anyway. They won’t dismiss you for going in with this concern.

I’m doing this loads but I’m on anti seizure meds so I’m
putting it down to my brain not being quite with it and it slows down the electric activity.
If concerned, go to GP.

Have you got any other symptoms at the moment, OP? I've got some sort of virus (suspect Covid, but haven't tested) and today I couldn't pick up my phone with my right hand to turn the alarm off. It was completely numb for a few minutes, and I also had some numbness in my legs (knees particularly) and elbows. Throughout the day I've been wary of feeling my grip weaken in case I drop something, and my balance hasn't been great at times. I've had a similar episode in the last year or so, and I feel strongly it has partly been as a result of viruses. Your experience could well be down to something else, of course, so I'm just suggesting this in case you see any parallels.

Whatever is happening to you I hope it's nothing permanent and you feel back to your usual self very soon.

Edited to add: I'm a long-time migraine sufferer and I suspect when I get viruses these days my migraine history plays a part in how they take me. Some of the weird proprioceptive stuff seems very similar.
