Stopping the depo jab and starting the mini pill experiences

Hello, I wondered if there’s anyone here who was on the depo jab but stopped and moved onto the mini pill (progestogen only)?

I have only had one dose of the depo and know that I don’t want another one. Just alittle worried about the side effects from stopping the depo and wondered if moving straight onto the mini pill, helped the transition time (I’m aware it will take a long time for the depo to fully leave the system)

My periods went haywire for a bit, but then they'd never been that regular anyway. They stopped completely while I was on Depo (I'd been on it a couple of years), then returned more irregular than before, and sometimes v heavy, but they eventually settled down to where they were pre-Depo.

Did you move onto the mini pill straight after stopping the depo? Did it help smooth out the transition?

I can’t remember all the details tbh as it was a while back, I do remember the GP put me on to the mini pill as I wasn’t a candidate for the combined pill at the time (high bp) but I seem to remember it being quite a smooth transition apart from my periods coming back stupidly heavy at first…
