Chesty cough for two weeks despite GP saying chest is clear

I've had a chesty cough for two weeks now. The first morning it started, I felt a bit feverish and tired, that only lasted about three days, but I want unwell per say. I've been hacking since then . I have loads of mucus on my chest, it's especially bad in the morning. I go through phases of hearing and feeling a wheeze in my throat, I'm not sure if the wheezy is in my throat or chest, but I can generally shift it after a few coughs. The mucus goes from green to yellow to white. I don't feel unwell. But I am getting concerned. I went to the gp last week who said my chest was clear. The cough isn't getting better. Is this normal?

Is it stuff dripping from your nose into your throat?

Dd has had a lingering cough for 4 weeks now but GP said her chest is clear too. Lots of nasty viral things about at the moment.

Get a second opinion. My MIL went to the GP with a terrible cough and was told it was clear. Literally the next day, she couldn't breath, called out the GP as she was too ill to get her to the GP. GP called and immediately called an ambulance to blue light her to A&E with double pneumonia! No way did that happen overnight - the first GP didn't examine her properly!!

These things can linger. Two weeks isn’t very long to clear up. Why did you go the the GP with it? Do you have underlying health problems or some urgent surgery that you need to be well for?

Is it a post nasal drip? I had suspected chest infection but actually just needed antibiotic nasal spay for a week or two

I have suffered post nasal drip for years but I've never felt as though I'm coughing and wheezing this much.. it just feels like its on my chest of that makes sense.

I went to the go because the first day it was a bit sore when coughing and the mucus was luminous green so I wanted some antibiotics as thought it may be an infection but she said not.

I don't think it's that as I'm not actually unwell with it per se. Just lingering tiredness

These things can linger. If you're not unwell and no fever then I would just let it run it's course. Viral infections can have green mucous as it's just the white cells coming in to fight the infection and the excess of them make it look green.
If you start to feel more unwell go back but otherwise just rest when you can.
