Anyone taken ornidazole after side effects from metronidazole for BV?

Hello, I unfortunately have a case of BV and was prescribed metronidazole - two doses in and I felt dreadful - insomnia that night, nausea, dizziness, lack of appetite, very flat. It clearly didn't agree with me. Turns out these are known potential side effects. Stopped yesterday, contacted doctor and was prescribed alternative, ordinazole - too scared to take it in case it does similar things - even though pharmacist assures me not, even though in the same drug family. But he also only said diarrhoea was a possible side effect of metronidazole (didn't even get that!)
Anyone taken these and have experience of ordinazole after metronidazole didn't agree with them?

No advice but I was on metronidazole once back in 2008 and agree it was bloody awful! I had to come off it early as it was making me panicky

I can't speak to the antibiotics as I avoid all of them whenever possible due to a seriously bad reaction.

However I found a fantastic product that deals really well with both BV and thrush.

Multi - gyn Actigel. It burns for a very short period after insertion but then stops.

Ooh yes I was panicky too @PlumColouredBedding and I’m sorry you went through that, was clearly awful enough to remember it many years later!

And thank you @RigsbysCat - that product is not available in the country I live in but there is a similar one (Fleurstat?) so I think I’ll give that a try…good to know it worked for you.
