Hi all,
after 20 years of asking my dr for help I went private & have just been told I more than likely have endometriosis (which i always suspected) I had an in depth scan that revealed many adhesions, but the sonography couldn’t give me any more detail. I’m waiting to see the gynaecologist to go over the results & find out more about the location of the adhesions & am also booked in for a laparoscopy.
My question is, ladies who suffer from endo, does it affect your digestion? A lot of my symptoms aside from the obvious period related are with my tummy. I have so much bloating I look 7 months pregnant every evening & I have episodes of constipation/diarrhoea & excessive gas. The digestive issues are almost harder to deal with than the agonising periods because it’s pretty much daily. I’m always just so uncomfortable in my tummy, no matter what I eat or do.
I should add, sex causes awful pelvic pain for days after & seems to exacerbate the constipation side of things. It’s like everything just stops working for days! As depressing as it is to say, it’s really becoming not worth the aftermath for me, obviously this is difficult on my relationship also 😔
I Had tests done on the nhs for my stomach a while back, they came back “normal” & i was told it was “most likely ibs” but I’ve since read endo can cause symptoms like this so I’m just looking for some real insight from anyone dealing with this.
I’d rather hear from real people in real time than just googling stuff. Obviously I’ll be discussing all this in a lot more depth with my gynaecologist but my next appt isn’t until next month.
Thanks for reading.
