Hey, I’m looking for some advice on my scoliosis, I’m 43 years old and was diagnosed with combined scoliosis at 13
i was braced from 13-16 .. it didn’t work particularly well but they just left it and said it probably wouldn’t get any worse..
well it did.. I have had children ect and now they are all grown up I decided to get it checked again as I’ve struggled with it physically, mentally and emotionally
in December my GP reffered me to a specialist and I had full back xray.. turns out my top curve is 68 degrees and my bottom curve is 90!
he sent urgent refferal to Southampton surgeon who I’m meeting for the first time next month… just kinda wanted to hear anyone’s experience with that first meeting and what I should expect… tbh I’m terrified he will say I can’t have surgery and will be left like this.. I have no health conditions and no nerve damage which has been tested ..
im aware every case is different but I’d love to hear a real experience rather than how google tells me it’s going to go
i guess I’m just worried it will end up being a chat and I’ll walk out still in limbo .. already waited months between appointments and only starting to feel like I’m being listened too .. so don’t want to hit a dead end with it .. thanks
