Sewn through finger

I have sewn through my fingernail. The thread is trapped under the nail and I can't get it out. I can't decide if it is ok left to grow out or whether to go to minor injuries.?

Minor injuries. It's an infection risk.

I don't know either but bumping for you as it's kind of cool. Does it hurt?

Personally I would go to minor injuries because I would worry it will get infected if you dont get the thread out.

Nail bed infections can be nasty, so I'd be tempted to go to a pharmacy to see what they suggest. They may say minor injuries.

Agree - pharmacy first. You probably just need to keep it as sterile as possible.

Very neat, though. Could be a new trend.

You need to get that removed at minor injuries/A&E, if you don't then an infection will set in and it could lead to having surgery to remove the infected nailbed....ask me how I know this.

Thanks all,

Went to minor injuries, gas and air and it's out.
My finger wasn't painful unless I tried to pull the thread out. So I was grateful for the gas and air.
I still can't work out how the thread got trapped Confused
