sorry this might be tmi
I have been having vaginal discharge and discomfort for three to four months now and despite having various swabs and tests I’m getting zero answers or treatment.
It all started after sex with my DH, we used condoms as we always do I went to the the toilet and thought I had thrush.
I used thrush cream but then a couple of days later started having thick green ‘snot’ like discharge from down below. No smell but constantly. Everytime I wipe and all day. I have to use pads constantly. I went to the gp who swabbed me and it came back I had group strep b - I was wrongly given antibiotics.
The discharge came back.
It doesn’t go away with my period and just makes the blood stringy as it’s all mixed in.
i have been to see various doctors who just swab me and look confused. I have had sti tests, my smear which was negative, I have had various exams and have been told my cervix is looking perfectly healthy.
i have stopped all multivitamins etc
I have t started any new medication
no new sexual partners
not allergic to anything im aware of
Its starting to dominate my life, sex can be uncomfortable not painful and to be honest it’s not really putting me in the mood.
I have also taken oral prebiotics, many over the counter pressures for BV but nothing really helps.
My last swab came back as ‘potential BV’ the doctor has prescribed me another course of antibiotics but four days in and I’m seeing no improvement, she has also asked me to follow up with a gel for 14 weeks to be inserted via pessary twice a week.
I think I need to be referred to gynae but gp wants me to try the gel first. I’m so worried it won’t work and then what??? I can’t live like this it’s horrible.
Has anyone had any experience of this?
just to add the more discharge I get the more irritated I am down there but I don’t think it’s thrush

Might be worth trying a sexual health clinic if you haven't done so already. Many have walk in services. Am not saying it's definitely an STI, but they are experts in this area.

I have already had screening and all clear

Was the screening done at a specialist clinic or by your GP?

I would suggest the GUM clinic. They will usually see you quite quickly.
