Recurring sinus pressure, fatigue and loss of smell

Hi All,

Looking for some advice / help from people who have had or are suffering similar symptoms.

I had a bad sinus infection in July 2023 and since then have had recurring symptoms as follows:

  • nose pressure between eyes
  • slight loss of smell and taste
  • no mucous
  • body aches and a feeling of being unwell
  • fatigue
  • some lightheadedness
the above occur every 2-3 weeks and have so far seen numerous GPs, ENT specialists but nothing specific has been picked up yet. I have a further appointment tomorrow with private ENT to ask for an MRI/scan.

I am doing nasal rinses, took Mometasome nasal spray for 6 months but gave me side effects so have had to stop. Tried Avamys but seems to make my nose more stuffy. Take antihistamines sometimes but they make me drowsy and symptoms don’t go away fully. Quit dairy and currently considering if it may be a gluten issue.

FYI: I don’t smoke, don’t drink alcohol and eat a clean diet and walk most days but not as much exercise as before due to fatigue.

I feel very miserable and struggling to keep down my job and look after two kids. I have wondered if it is recurrent colds due to 6 year old picking up some viruses in school but it’s too frequent to be viral I believe.

Please can anyone share if they have had similar symptoms and how you got better.

Thank you.
