Does anyone take glucosamine, and has it helped? My knees are beginning to get a bit achy at the end of the day after long walks, and I wondered if I could take something to help. I don’t take any supplements currently, but there’s so much advice on the internet it’s overwhelming!

Yes, I take it and yes it helps. I notice if I run out and go without for a week.

@UrOutdoorsthank you for answering! How many Mg do you take? Do you take it combined with Omega 3 or anything else?

I do, it was suggested by my GP and he said to take it with Condroitin.

I've been taking it for a couple of months. Zero difference in terms of aches and pains. I just hope it is making some difference in the joints nonetheless, which might slow down any further deterioration. Don't think I'll replace my stash once it runs out.

Snake oil IMO.
Twenty years ago a doctor recommended it to me, I took it but it made no difference.
More recently my rheumatologist said it has been discredited but may have a placebo effect.

I’ll tell you what I’m taking when I get in from work!

It works for my exh but you need the maximum dose of 1,100 (forgot unit, either mg or ug). So many products are sold as 500 so it isn't effective. I was told (by a medical professional) that if it didn't work by the third month then it wasn't for you.

I take collagen which works for me but didn't for my exh. We are all different.

This is the one I use! I also take fish liver oil.

I’ve been taking glucosamine and chondroitin for over 10 years. It was recommended by a friend when I was telling her about the pain in my wrists which made it painful to hold things. I started noticing a difference only after about 6 months, as she’d warned me, and now all these years later both wrists are much better and I only have a fraction of the discomfort I had then.

Not recommended if you have Dupuytren's Contracture.
