So I’m 45. On depo so no periods. Could well be peri-menopause but no real clue due to contraception stopping my periods.
My symptoms are varied and weird. Google ( and TikTok!) have suggested Sjogrens but I’m unsure. I will make a doctors appointment but I need to get my head around how to bring it up. I hate visiting the GP so this is a big deal for me.
I had bloods done 2 years ago. No one ever contacted me over them. I’ve just had another look and my thyroid TSH level was 6. It’s been marked as ‘stable borderline’
I am often freezing cold. It’s currently 23.6 C in my living room. Yet I’m shivering and have popped the electric fire on. The other night it was the same kind of temp and I had my electric blanket on all night.
Annoyingly I’m also often boiling hot. I do a physical job and really struggle with the heat. I’m never just a nice comfortable temperature.
When I’m cold I’m really cold. Dramatically shivering and teeth chattering cold.
My lips are constantly dry. My mouth is a little. I’m always needing lipbalm ( I’m guessing I’m not helping myself with this)
My eyes stream with tears. Often just one eye. Sometimes both. I constantly look like I’m crying.
My vagina is dry. Itchy dry and sore 🥹.
I suffer with random aches. Often in my joints. Knuckles/elbows/ shoulders. Very weird and usually clears up after a day or two.
I’m tired. But nothing excessive. I work a busy job. Have kids and run a home so it’s usual I guess.
I suffer with low level anxiety. It’s getting worse. It’s making my life miserable at times.
I’m overweight. But dealing with it gradually. Are these thing all inevitable as I age or do I make an appointment? Sjogrens goes with the dryness. But I don’t really know much about it.
Any advice would be appreciated thank you.
