Seeing a private consultant first time

I have never used PHI before and because Vitality took six weeks to authorise my claim, much of the work was done by the local NHS emergency team. I’m done treatment but have no ‘closure’ and have lingering muscle damage.

How do they differ from a regular GP appt? Never seen a consultant in my life (it’s urology?

They don’t. Most consultants do private and NHS. Are you seeing a gp or a consultant?

You usually have half an hour, so a really good amount of time to discuss your issues. It is helpful to make a list of questions in advance.

They may well want to do followup tests, some of which might be done on the day. Worth understanding in advance which tests are preauthorised, and which might need further authorisation.
