Anyone had or seen this before (pic)

It’s a rubbery lump on DH cheek, just in front of his ear.

its slightly raised when his jaw is closed. You can’t really feel round the lump but, when his mouth is open, this lump appears. It’s not painful and there’s no clicking when he closes his jaw, so I’m thinking not TMJ.

i think it’s been there about 3 years and slowly growing. I’d say it’s about the size of a flat golf ball.

got a GP appointment next week but I’m just wondering if anyone has had/seen anything similar.

hes worrying himself sick over it and he’s got me a bit concerned now

I would think a cyst or lipoma but needs to get it checked as he doesnt want it getting bigger.

Agree, I would say a lipoma or cyst. Make sure they get the whole sac out or it can grow back over time.

I'm no medical expert by any means but it could be a cyst or lipoma?

Does it feel firm or soft to touch?

3 years is a long time to wait to get anything of concern looked at.

Could it be a salivary gland tumour? My brother has one, it’s benign but they usually like to remove them if they grow.

@tootsierubs it could well be. That’s my suspicion. Did your brother have it removed? Did it look like this one?

@SaraHoliday it’s rubbery if that makes sense. We have only just noticed it as it actually disappears when the jaw is at rest but, looking back at old photos, you can see a very slight swelling but only if you know what to look for.

My brothers isn’t quite as big as that but he is on the waiting list to have it removed. They prefer to remove them whilst smaller as it’s a bit easier but they’re not rushing to do it. They are usually very slow growing.
