How long does a Cystoscopy take

I have been referred for one and really scared so how long is the scope actually in your bladder for.

Mine was literally a minute, no more than two minutes. One of the quickest procedures ive ever had. Its a sharp scratch as they insert it and then its fine. Honestly, you will be fine.

Edited to add and they tell you their findings there and then.

Mine was with Botox & lasted maybe 15 minutes, no pain from the scope, just the injections.

I had one a few years ago and it was fine, nowhere near as terrible as I was expecting. Like someone else said it makes you wince a bit when they insert the camera but it doesn’t hurt once it’s in your bladder. When I had mine they just gave me a guided tour of my bladder which was interesting 🧐 then said all okay. All over in a matter of minutes.

I had one a few weeks ago and was dreading it. It was fine. They used a gel with local anaesthetic and it was over very quickly. They told me the result there and then , though he did refer me for a CT scan of my kidneys to be absolutely sure there was nothing else going on. I had a hysteroscopy yesterday and frankly, that was far worse.
