Salivary gland stone/blockage

For about 10 days, I have had a lot of tenderness underneath my earlobe and heading up to my cheekbone. I saw a doctor a few days ago who said it might be a salivary stone, I don’t feel unwell in myself but the pain is bad especially when I eat. I’ve been eating lots of lemons and using a hot compress where the pain is to encourage drainage. The pain is not there all the time. Has anyone had this and any recommendations for how to get rid of it quickly! Thank you

@TemporarilyCantDoMyselfThank you. Sounded very straightforward for you. Must have been lovely to have them out. Yes mine are further up but hopefully can be treated one way or another. Can’t see either doctor or dentist until tomorrow but that’s fine. I’d never even heard of them until a week ago!

@itstimeforme I hadn't heard of them either! Once they were out it was bliss.
Incidentally I was told they would come back, but they never have and it was at least ten years ago, so fingers crossed maybe they never will. Hope you get sorted ASAP.

Just an update for everyone who was kind enough to comment. I’ve seen a GP and a dentist and there is no general consensus as to what it is, GP thinks lymph node dentist said could be stone could be lymph node. I’ve been referred on two week pathway by the dentist for an ultrasound. It’s very sore and both dentist and GP could feel it immediately. GP said what I found in my mouth was unlikely to be a fragment of a stone 🤷‍♀️

Further update, it is a stone, I saw it on the x-ray. It’s high up in the gland, just under my ear so they are not sure how to remove it yet. At least nothing more concerning!
