Iv been getting headaches daily for a few months. Across my eyebrows and top of my nose. I feel like im sniffing all the time but when I blow my nose nothing comes out.
I saw the doctor and he said potential blocked sinus but the spray he gave me which I have been using for a month hasn't helped at all. Anyone else get these type of headaches??

Is your sight test up to date?
Do you have allergies at all?
Have you been taking lots of paracetamol for headaches? Medication over use headaches are a thing.

interestingly, migraines can be misdiagnosed as sinus headaches.

I had this and I ended up having an mri, I had an infected spot in my sinus. Course of antibiotics and I remember feeling so much better, whatever the infection was has clearly been brewing there for a long time!

Yes site test upto date. I wear glasses but only for computer work or concentration tasks. I have astigmatism in my left eye but they are healthy and vision is good.
I dont have any allergies. I have been taking ibuprofen daily. Once the headache goes it doesnt come back till the next day. Always around 9 / 10am
I would love to not take them as I know about the rebound headaches but if I dont take them it lasts till I go to bed and can be quite painful.

I have had hay-fever for the first time ever this year and I'm old! I would take Loratadine (generic Clarityn) every day for at least a week on waking and see if it makes a difference.

Emiliana52 · 19/07/2026 17:53

@Slothlovescoffee I take them ever late afternoon. each day. It really helps me.

I get headaches in a band across my eyes if my pillow position isn't right, if I have clenched my jaw (i.e subconciously stressed), or had my neck at a weird angle.

ChimpanzeeThatMonkeyNews · 19/07/2026 19:24

Same@DeedlessIndeed.When I’m stressed i clench my jaw and i do it in my sleep, too, which (near enough) gives me a headache every day.

I’ve recently had this. I know I get a headache when the air pressure drops before rain. I’ve recently found out that there tends to be a lot of ozone where I live and that causes problems when the air is still.

Finally, I have permanently dry ears, eyes and throat. The recent awful heat exacerbated this and caused pain. Dry sinuses causes immense pain and I’ve taken to using a Sterimar flush daily.

I that black coffee helps, particularly in the morning, because that makes inflamed and dilated blood vessels contract.
