Could this be infected?

I had a punch biopsy done on my arm 8 days ago. I’ve been keeping it covered because I often work in a dirty environment. I change the plaster once/twice a day. Today it feels itchy and looks a bit red. Could it be infection?

Show it to a pharmacist and see what they think.

Ime itching is a normal part of healing, but if it feels “wrong” to you, let a pharmacist have a look.

Mark where the edges of redness are so you can see if it’s expanding. Is it hot to the touch ? Or smelly?

I’d make a salt compress by putting salt into a muslin cloth or handkerchief and then into hot water and put it on the skin for a while - as hot as is tolerable but don’t burn yourself.
