choroidal nevus (eye mole) growing

Hi all
The optician discover a choroidal nevus 5 years ago on the back of my eye. Ive had pictures taken every year. This year they compared it to one back in 2021 and it has clearly grown and darkened. I am being referred for an opinion from the hospital eye doc. Google of course has diagnosed me with cancer. I was wondering if anyone else has had a nevus/eye mole that has grown and been checked and all is OK? Just looking for a bit of hope.

Did the optician indicate how long you'd be waiting for an appointment? Is it a 2ww thing (or whatever it's called now)

Hi op, I’ve just been diagnosed with one of these and this is my fear! I’ve got to go back in six months to check for growth.

all I can say is I’ve googled the shit out of it and the chances of them becoming anything worrisome is very rare even with growth. I think they like to get a second opinion and err on the side of caution. Mine was spotted by chance at a routine appointment and I did have to do some fantastic eye gymnastics for the ophthalmologist to see it so. I reckon it’s been there a while just not been spotted before.

Whilst doing my research I did come across a couple of threads on here where people were referred on to the hospital and all ended up being well. Where have they referred you?
