Adalimumab not working with crohns

Dd16 diagnosed with Crohn’s. She opted for adalimumab as they said it had a good chance of sending her into remission. She’s been on it since about March and the clinician said she was in remission. It’s now July and we’re on holiday and she’s feeling ick and still has lots of blood with her poo. I know these drugs can stop working but to do this in less than 4 months is a bit concerning. I have colitis and I have been treated in the past with osalazine and steroids but she hasn’t been offered any anti inflammatories alongside to help. Anyone had similar and was treated successfully with other biologicals or medications for Crohn’s?

Sorry to hear that. I was treated with azathioprine for over a decade, which kept me fairly flare-free, although I eventually had to come off it. Have they offered any other potential treatments?

Not yet. On holiday and so have phoned the consultant. Unfortunately it’s putting off my dd doing anything on holiday.

My son was prescribed it when he was diagnosed at 20. It was very successful for him and he was in remission for nearly 4 years - he's just had a flare up for the very time (he's 24 now and has just had surgery for an abscess in his colon). When it was first prescribed he also had steroids for 3ish months to help him get it under control.
