Breath Holding Attacks

DS1 who's 14mths has just started having these - he had 2 in 2 days last week. the first one was after another child bit him at nursery (not as bad as it sounds - it was lunchtime and the other child had her mouth open for the next spoon of food and DS1 put his finger in) and then he went rigid passed out and went floppy, pale, blue lipped. Anyway I got the afternoon off work as the nursery felt he should be at home recuparating with mum. He had the second one the next day amzingly at the paed appt as he was trying to listen to DS1's chest & tummy, DS1 had a paady and then it happened again.

The paed said it was a blue breath holding attack and having googled it it doesn't seem to be serious, just wondering if there's anything I can do to try to stop them happening?

Try blowing into his face when he does this.. a short sharp bloww at his face.. not breath for him type one.
he should find it almost impossible not to take a breath in.. It's really common thing for LO to do.
