Buscopan and high eye pressure

I've been prescribed Buscopan for an IBS flare. I've taken two doses today, I didn't read the leaflet - like I would usually do.

The last three eye tests I've had have shown high eye pressure. My dad had glaucoma. I'm now freaking out that I shouldn't have taken it and it's going to cause me some issues.

It will most likely resolve itself when you stop taking it medicine doesn't stay inside you for long. Speak to your eye dr first to see if they actually think this is the cause

I've emailed my gp to ask if I can carry on taking it. I'm going to call my optometrist too when they open and ask

GP said yes ok to carry on taking it. Opticians have said to take at my own risk and they wouldn't advise I take it 😩

@Thomastuchel I have glaucoma and was a patient at Moorfields a few years ago when I was also prescribed Buscopan for IBS by my GP. Moorfields advised against this so my GP gave me Alverine Citrate instead which works well for me without any side effects.
