Frequently feel like I have a cold/flu the night before my day off but it comes to nothing

I work uneven patterns as I'm self employed and often when I have a block of time I can do something useful with I travel 70 miles and back to my elderly parents and do stuff there. I do try and take the odd "absolute" day off here and there where there is no work or caring commitments, but whenever I have that earmarked, the night before I suddenly feel really unwell, sneezing coughing and aching like I've got flu or a bad cold and it carries over so I can't enjoy my day to myself. It's almost like if I let myself relax I become ill. Then when I'm back in the groove working/caregiving, the symptoms disappear. It's random days because my work pattern is uneven, but it's every time I have a day to myself. What's going on?

No-one? I'm wondering if it's some kind of immune system mechanism.
