Home remedy for open graze / avoid infection

I’ve a small split of skin / graze in the most hard to reach place, under the ball of my foot between toes. Stupidly been wandering around barefoot in the garden and only really noticed it tonight. I’m prone to infections and wondered what I can put on it? First thought was a dab of dettol but I can’t find any in the house. Would alcohol on a cotton pad do any good?

Wash it thoroughly with soap and water and cover it if you can.

@FairyBatman thank you off to do that now. I kick myself how lack I can be with this kind of thing when have suffered infections before!

Hydrocolloid plasters such as Boots or Compeed would also offer protection @IndigoBluey
