Is anyone using Persona?

years and years ago I used a Persona, and from what I can remember it was great. When I wanted to conceive I even used it to hit the mark.. iykwim.
10 years later, I've had a coil out after complications, don't really want the pill or any injection and dh is having problems with condoms (delayed response ... but that could just be his (old) age)
Anyway, was thinking about persona again. But I really don't want to get pregnant so feeling a bit apprehensive.
Any opinions? Good bad and ugly please x

I've managed to not get pg using one, and then get pg using one, if that helps. Think you have to be a little, um, careful though if you aren't going to use anything else. No thinking 'oh hang it, let's throw caution to the wind' on red days. You could always look at Toni Weschler's book (look at any ttc temping type thread and you'll find the reference). It's family planning based on physical observations, taking your temperature, etc. Sort of backs up what your Persona will tell you. Or perhaps the Persona backs up what your body is telling you.

I used Persona for a while. It's easy and all that. But....I think it's the contraception for someone who wouldn't mind getting pregnant. It's not as "safe" as other methods.

I agree really, I used it originally because it wouldn't be the end of the world if I got pregnant. Things are a bit different these days.
I was hoping this would be the perfect solution. right back to the drawing board.

DS2 was conceived when I was using Persona - and not deliberately. I think it's a great, non-intrusive means of contraception in theory but I just didn't "throw caution to the wind", I was very sensible with it all - and DS2 was the result (and a great result, I should add ). So if another pregnancy would be a complete disaster, then look elsewhere.

I've had to come to the reluctant conclusion that Persona isn't for me any more. I would happily have another DC, but DH wouldn't - so there is too much scope for potential agony there!

Not sure what the alternative is, though, given that I'm not keen on chemical contraceptives and am allergic to condoms...

Let us know if you come up with any solution!!
