Small cervical disc protrusion

I’ve just had the results back from an MRI scan and it shows a small cervical disc protrusion. I’ve got to wait for an appointment to discuss the results and just wondered if anyone can tell me what’s likely to happen next?

I’ve had symptoms for 8-9 months now and been signed off work throughout as I’m not well enough for my particular role. I’ve got back, neck and head pain. The MRI shows no nerve compression thankfully but I’m having nerve related symptoms - shooting pains down arm, weakness, slight numbness and off feeling in arm. Also nausea, dizziness. Have also previously had muscle tightness and movement problems but they are better now. Symptoms are worse with movement. I’ve had physio which hasn’t helped, I’m on gabapentin which has helped with the nerve related symptoms and pain is currently not managed very well. It’s not as bad as when it first started but it’s still impacting me daily and I’m still having bad unmanageable days.

I just want to get back to normal, is this likely to continue much longer? Is there treatment or just medication to manage symptoms?
