Waking in the night with severe stomach cramps and heartburn

The last two nights I’ve been waking up at 0300/0400hrs with the most terrible griping pains in my stomach. A buscopan seems to settle it enough for me to go back to sleep, but I’ve never had this before.

Woke up fine this morning, I do have a bit of history with occasional heart burn. Nothing on this level though, it’s just so odd.

Has anyone else had anything like this?

Yes! Long story short(ish), I keep a glass of water with half a teaspoon of Bicarb mixed in on my bedside table. For me, it instantly relieves the acid.

Are you in the red / orange zone? If so, consider an electrolyte sachet daily for a few days, and see if that helps with the cramps etc. I do this and it help with the imbalances.

And drink more water than you ever thought possible Grin
