Hair loss after septic shock and ICU recovery, any advice?

Back in March I unexpectedly ended up in ICU with a huge infection. The amazing news is that I am recovering well 3 months later, but the side/after-effects appear to be the gift that keeps on giving 😭. In the last couple of weeks I have started to lose handfuls of hair every time I wash it, and strands just fall out throughout the day. Apparently this is a ‘normal’ response to septic shock but I’m finding it so hard…. Does anyone have any advice on how to stop it from happening (probably impossible), style it so it doesn’t look so bad, help it to grow back asap?!

Some of it will start regenerating as it goes into a growth cycle before all the old, which is dormant, has finished falling out. So it will still feel thin, but gradually begin filling in.

So first pic was my January hair loss, second pic is my April hair loss so yes, 3 months ish
I honestly thought I was going to lose all my hair but I didn’t

Similar for me but I also lost my finger and toenails. I also found that my skin came off too.

What? Not sure I can deal with finger and toe nails too! My feet shed skin like a snake about a month after I fell ill - I had incredibly hot and swollen feet the whole time I was in hospital, and then when I was discharged all the skin peeled off!

I am probably about half way between the 2 of those - not sure I could bring myself to photograph it but maybe I should…..
