I’m a bit confused after reading a thread today. I started HRT a few months ago after several months of no periods.
Since I’ve been on it I have had some spotting and also three episodes of heavy bleeding, like a proper heavy period. So leaking at night etc. I assumed this was normal but am now wondering if it is not?

Evorel Conti is for post meno women.

if you have only been period free for a few months you shouldn’t be on it.

any bleeding after meno needs investigation.

Hmm ok that’s strange. I was referred to the menopause specialist at the surgery and she knew my situation and put me on it?

My understanding too , that you had to have 12 months period free before you would be considered to have gone through the menopause and get HRT . It is common to have some bleeding when you are first taking hrt .

I think you should check with your GP .
Especially as you have only had a few months period free before this .

After hrt has settled down , anyone who has post menopausal bleeding should report it to their doctor asap . It can be a symptom of endometrial / womb cancer . It needs to be checked out and for approx 90 per cent of women there are other benign causes . That isn’t a concern for you OP in your circumstances , but wanted to flag up in case anyone else is reading with similar issues and has been on hrt for a while .

I was on it last year and got additional periods. I’m not post menopausal.
