I have been to the dermatologist this morning he wants to do a biopsy on my nails I am so very scared, has anyone else had this line under their thumbnail and had a biopsy that turned out to be not cancer please?

IDK if this will help but I saw a post about dark marks under the nails on Mumsnet and decided to get the one I had checked out; it turned out to be non cancerous. They couldn't work out if it was a fungal infection or something else, but it hasn't come back. I've had benign moles and breast lumps as well.
I googled at the time and AI said that 95% of them are non cancerous. Its really important not to ignore potentially serious symptoms, as early detection and treatment will greatly improve the chances of a good outcome.

Hi, thankyou for your reply
Did they do a biopsy on it for you? That's what is scaring me as to me the dermatologist obviously thinks it's something suspicious would you agree? Xxx

Yes they did a biopsy, I only had to wait a week for the result. I think they do it as a precaution.
