Does anyone else get piles from this?

like lots of people I’ve had occasional external haemorrhoids on and off over the years.
largely manageable but one was thrombosed about 10 years and never known pain like it.
Since then I’ve got a couple of prescription creams to treat them if they pop up, so to speak. I eat lots of veg/ exercise a lot/ stay hydrated blah blah so I don’t think there’s much else I can do.
BUT one thing I have noticed is that going on a night out where I’m dancing really causes a flare up. Specifically if I’m standing around a lot. I’m not doing any weird dancing where I strain and I occasional drink alcohol but never much. I can literally feel them coming on by the end of the night and wake up in pain the next morning.
Has anyone else experienced this?
if I do a dance class at the gym or spend all day on my feet shopping it doesn’t happen.
It’s putting me off going on nights out or to parties !

It’s probably just gravity and perhaps getting hot? Mine are having a flare at the moment and I notice when I go on a long walk, they are sore!
Maybe use a suppository before a night out and some cream before you go to bed?
Hate the things, they are literally a pain in the bum 😂

Thanks @Lucie11I just don’t understand why general standing up doesn’t affect it but nights out where I’m dancing always seem a trigger !

It might be to do with high heels pushing your pelvis forward, more strain on certain muscles around the posterior area?

momager22 · 15/06/2026 18:03

@Mayflower282sorry I should have said I don’t wear heels. Always comfy shoes !
that’s what is so weird - in isolation; dancing, being stood up for ages, a bit of alcohol don’t affect me at all. But when it’s all 3 together on a night out I literally feel them coming on by around 11 pm!
I even do weights classes so I assume my pelvic floor is straining at times and not a sausage at the gym!

Maybe they have FOMO 😂
