Silent Migraines today - weather?

Have had two silent migraines today with a gap of half an hour between them, vision very distorted but now cleared. Thunderstorms forecast so wondering if this is the reason?? Has anyone else had them today?

I always get migraines if there is low pressure, so when rain is forecast or it is overcast. Sometimes they are silent which is a relief other times full migraine. I have had migraines since I was a child and I know my triggers and what works to stop it or keep it short. I can literally feel it starting as a sort of headache and can tell the second I know it will develop into the migraine.

It was something I was taught to do, pay attention, write down how it felt etc.

I don’t get migraines but I get bad headaches before a storm or rain and when the air pressure falls. I’d have thought that high pressure would cause headaches but apparently it’s the sudden lowering that causes problems.

I also get headaches in hot weather and I have no idea why.

Yeah low pressure messes with my head and causes silent migraines (though I didn’t realise they were this though until reading this). Not as bad as it used to be but still a pita especially with humid weather.

I haven’t had a migraine since menopause a couple of years ago, but I have a tell-tale pressure building over my right eye and the right side of my skull today. That is definitely the beginning of a migraine for me

I don’t get migraines anymore do get headaches in stormy weather/humidity not always silent migraine symptoms but sometimes. Pressure affects me. Thought it was same for everyone.

I used to get migraines without aura when younger, now I just usually get silent Migraines, but in the last half hour I can feel a headache coming on 😖

I got a migraine yesterday after a walk in the patchy rain-to-bright-sun.

Started as a missing patch of vision in my left eye, then a kaleidoscopic floated in that eye, cleared up and then 30 minutes later BOOM. Pain and pressure behind the eyes, nausea, vomit, conked out and now just a sore head

I was in bed all day Sunday with a migraine. I didn't realise they were connected to weather.

Yes, this heavy weather always sets my auras off, my sister has been getting them almost daily the last few days too.

Karmacamelia · 09/06/2026 13:23

Mine are similar to this, the zig zagging/crown of thorns effect moves around in a circular way, always starts top right hand corner of eye

Used to get that with migraines but luckily they stopped when I was 30 and I rarely get them now. I do get the odd one. Think mine were hormonal and BCP related too.

Yes! This is what I meant by “kaleidoscope”

I’d never had it like that before yesterday. Previous auras had just been fuzzy kind of static or “nothing” at the peripheries of my field of vision
